I had not done any of my biggest loser workouts since Wed and so I was happy and surprised when I stepped on the scale and it said I had lost 2 pounds. Yay me! Not so fast...after the body analyzer was finished I realized that 1.4 pounds of what I lost was muscle! Really! I can lose it that fast if dieting but not working out? I guess so! I was determined to not miss anymore workouts while cutting calories as I only want to lose fat and gain muscle.
My hubby got on the scale this morning...first time he has even gotten on one of the body analyzer scales. It took several tries go get him to hold the hand things correctly but after a while we were able to get a reading. He is out of shape but not as bad as me...already knew that....he just thought he was in better shape than he actually turned out to be.
The part that got me down 'a bit' was that this scale will show you the age of your body taking into account how fit you are. I am 41 but my body is at 58 years...eeks...my hubby is 33 years older than me but he came out with a body age of 56! Dang....he's been in and out of the hospital so much over the past few years ...losing one kidney and the other one failing but he's still comes out with a younger body age than me by 2 years! Shoot!!! I decided...I better really get on the fast track to getting in shape or my 'old' man is gonna outlive me!
I wanted to try a new workout with the EA Active Sports2 but after 2 hours of trying to get the heart rate armband to sinc with the xbox and not getting it right I decided to just go ahead and do my Biggest Loser workout. I hadn't done the fitness test for the start of my new 4 week challenge yet so off I went to get it done. I had finished about 15 minutes of it when my son came in and saw me doing one of his fav exercises and he wanted to join it...which is no problem when I'm working out but during the test it will cut off the test if the kinect thinks I'm not doing the exercise correctly. It's really hard to get the green light to go off when you have a 3 year old climbing on you. :) My hubby was trying to get him to go play outside with him so I could finish but I said not to worry about it as I'd just finish without the program. David had a blast and I did get in a workout...just failed to get a very good score on the fitness test. I'll redo it in the morning before he wakes up.
Today I did really well with my diet.
Had left overs from last night for breakfast, chicken with broccoli, green beans, and tomatoes.
Lunch was vegs, and dinner was 2 breaded catfish fillets with a salad. total calories for the day...1451
My wrist weights were hurting this evening ...not like a sore muscle but like a bruise so I took them off and it looks like cleaning out the pool with them on was a bad idea as my right wrist was a bit bruised. I removed them for the rest of the day.
We didn't do our walk today but did spend lots of time outside working on getting the pool ready to swim in, getting the gardens ready to plant, and we have one of those old time push mowers that runs only by people power. I mowed the front lawn followed with a bit of playing basketball, catch, and tag with the kids.
While I was taking my shower after all the sweaty outside activity I noticed that while soaping up my upper back I could actually feel muscles there! I'm excited to be able to tell that I'm losing some of the fat off my back to the point that I can actually feel muscles under my skin again :) I don't know if it's from wearing the wrist weights the past few days or all the biggest loser workouts...but which ever one it is I'll be keeping up doing both. ...I'll just be careful about wearing the weights when I am doing an activity that requires a lot of wrist movement until I am able to find a set of weights that don't limit my movement.
My numbers for today: (my sleep time is adding in yesterday's nap on today's sleep time :) )

Today had been a very good day and now I'm thinking it's time to go lay down and pretend like I'm asleep until I actually do fall asleep.
Keep up the good work everyone. One step at a time...your dreams will come true...just keep positive and positive things will come to you :)
Isn't it awesome to start to see the changes, like feeling the muscle? And muscle is like the best "diet" tool out there - burn those calories even at rest! They are like freebies! I get excited about that stuff. I noticed that my knees are starting to stick out a little bit - like I can see them under there again. Very exciting. Great job Mary and great job to keep going with your workout and just doing it even though you got distracted/interrupted. I'm learning to do that more - remembering that it adds up even if I have to pause to get a 4 year old monkey boy off me for a second :)And in the end we know that them "helping" is helping them too! My hubby is also one who you'd think would have some major health problems - he eats way worse then me and even though he's not "as obese" as I am he's still obese, he's 10 years older then me. I always get shocked when he has his blood pressure checked and it's fine (and mine is through the roof) because he' lives off fast food as much as he can. However, now I worry about him and diabetes and he still doesn't seem worried!
